ReSOURCE Bids Warm Farewell to Creative Habitat

As Creative Habitat says goodbye to the Vermont community as it closes its doors next month, we at ReSOURCE are sad to see the landmark craft store go. From its opening in 1985 in Essex, then under the name Ben Franklin, Creative Habitat has offered Vermonters a wide array of products—fine art materials, home decorations, framing, and school supplies. Now, after over a month of sales ranging from 20-70% off on all items in-store including fixtures, the store’s long and positive history is finally coming to a close.

Owner Mark Dowling says the closing of Creative Habitat is bittersweet; though it feels like the end of an era for himself and many long-time customers, he looks forward to continuing his own personal projects and relaxing over the beautiful Vermont summer with his dog.

ReSOURCE is pleased to bring some of Creative Habitat’s store fixtures back with us to our Burlington location. To pick up your own arts and crafts supplies, among other items in their vast inventory, visit Creative Habitat in the Burlington Plaza Shopping Center on Shelburne Road!
