    Development and Marketing Internship Burlington  Vermont

    ReSOURCE’s Development and Marketing Department offers the opportunity for an energetic individual interested in fundraising, marketing, and organizational development to gain hands-on experience in a thriving nonprofit organization.
    Interns will assist in the following areas:
    •Fundraising campaigns and event planning
    •Outreach and guerilla marketing to colleges and universities
    •Connect with local businesses to organize donation “round-ups”
    •Assist in the design, planning, and implementation of annual events including Art Hop.
    •Experience with social media and some graphics programs such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, or Publisher

    Employment and Transition Support Internship Burlington  Vermont

    ReSOURCE’s training programs are responsible for preparing individuals for job success through direct hands-on work experience, and classroom education. Primary responsibilities for this position will be to support and assist the Employment and Transition Coordinator in the work of finding work experience and employment opportunities for trainees in our programs.
    Interns will assist in the following areas:
    •Outreach to area employers and organizations
    •Researching and compiling job postings relevant to trainees interests
    •Various administrative tasks including occasional form creation or updating
    •Researching and providing summary briefs on training related topics
    •Assisting trainers in teaching job hunting, resume writing, and interview techniques
    •Assist in matching trainees with job shadows
    •Opportunity to work directly with trainees on resumes, cover letters and interview skills.

    1-3 Hours a day/ 2-4 days a week. Flexible within business hours and school schedule.

    ReSOURCE's Human Resources internship is an incredible opportunity to gain real-world experience in the human resources field and in non-profit administration.  Depending on department needs and interests and abilities, the intern will hone many skills by working both independently and with staff.
    Intern Responsibilities & Potential Projects:
    •Improving our on boarding process.
    •Organization of current HR records.
    •Occasional policy research.
    •Assist with creating trainings for staff and AmeriCorps members.
    •Becoming familiar with ReSOURCE's online employee website and propose ways to improve site; Assist with implementing those changes.
    •Updating new employee orientation packets, and safety and manager manuals.
    •Assisting with other general office duties such as coping, filing, faxing, etc.
    •Other miscellaneous projects based on the needs of the department.
    •Helping transition to a paperless HR office.
    •Safety inspections for administrative office.
    •Assisting with the creation of an employee wellness survey, collecting and summarizing results.

    Website Upgrade Project Management Internship Burlington  Vermont

    ReSOURCE's mission is to meet community and individual needs through education and job skills training, environmental stewardship, and economic opportunities. We are looking for a highly motivated intern to work in collaboration with our Development and Operations Directors to help facilitate the new design of the organization's website. The Website Upgrade Project Management Intern will work with store managers and department heads to create content and structure for a completely revamped website.
    Interns main responsibilities will be:
    •Interview store managers, department heads, and relevant staff to determine the organization's overall needs for web pages, links, and connectivity
    •Learn ReSOURCE's mission and programs to fully understand potential uses for the website
    •Research website possibilities and trends - determine what forms, styles, graphics, and methods are most effective
    •Provide project management support and administrative support as needed to the Development and Operations Directors in relation to the project
    •Communicate with outside agencies and partners including, but not limited to, graphic designers, marketing firms, and website designer/coder hired by ReSOURCE to launch the new website
    •Write content, choose & edit images, design page layouts, and create graphics
    •Determine the design and final product with the Development and Operations Directors
    •Create a final package of design and all materials to present to the designer/coder

    This project will run through the Spring, with targeted completion of the project by the end of April. The intern will work approximately ten hours per week, with a computer and software available in the ReSOURCE headquarters and some remote (off-site) work hours possible.
    ReSOURCE will work with the intern and her/his instructors to receive college intern/practicum credit, if available, and will provide technical instruction, work experience, and mentoring.

    College coursework and experience in marketing & design, business management, and project management is preferred. Knowledge of website deign and advanced graphics software a plus.

    SQL/MS Access Development Internship Burlington  Vermont

    ReSOURCE is an innovative non-profit organization with the mission of waste reduction, job skill training and poverty relief.  Its operations are largely funded through its reuse operations. We are seeking a motivated intern to assist us in improving and upgrading ReSOURCE's database.
    The SQL/MS Access Development Intern should have visual basic programming, SQL server, and MS Access database experience to contribute to our upgrade, in collaboration with in-house and external database consultations. 
    Interns will assist in the following areas:
    •Contribute to upgrades and improvements on ReSOURCE's databases used to manage inventory, people, time, point of sale, trainees, and program outcomes
    •Help improve forms and add ease of use, as well as improve other functionality features, to develop and expand management reports
    •Work alongside ReSOURCE employees and outside database experts
    •Work independently on programming and query writing
    •Maintaining and improving our Social Media presence

    Construction Instructor Barre  Vermont

    Construction Instructor, Barre
    ReSOURCE is an innovative non-profit organization with the mission of waste reduction, job skill training and poverty relief.  The YouthBuild Construction Instructor supports this mission by providing weatherization, construction and job readiness training to young men and women enrolled in the YouthBuild program. The YouthBuild Construction Instructor will ensure that YouthBuild partners learn key construction, weatherization and energy efficiency skills while contracting on and completing projects for mostly low income customers.
    The YouthBuild Construction Instructor will report to the YouthBuild Program Director and will work in collaboration with other YouthBuild staff, particularly the Job Site Instructor, to deliver an excellent training program to young men and women who do not have a high school diploma.
    Goals of Position
    - Help design and deliver a YouthBuild training program that both teaches youth weatherization and general carpentry skills and provides an essential service that will reduce the energy consumed in homes and the cost burden of home heating on low income families.
    - Ensure YouthBuild partners graduate the program with an understanding of the fundamentals of weatherization, construction and customer service and an ability to use these skills in a variety of work settings.
    - Support the mission of ReSOURCE.
    - Earn income from construction and weatherization contracts to support YouthBuild program and cover all direct service costs.
    - Make the program into a nationally recognized model for youth development, job training and environmental sustainability.

    - Deconstruction, construction, or carpentry experience and excellent knowledge of tools, equipment, building techniques and project bidding. Weatherization experience desired.
    - Valid driver’s license and access to personal vehicle for site visits and bidding.

    - Possess excellent teamwork communications skills and a willingness to use them with a variety of audiences.
